Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 22, 2026
Overview
Kin-nect is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of the loved ones you enroll. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data. We've written it in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us at support@kin-nect.app.
Information We Collect
- Account information: Your email address, a hashed copy of your password (we never store passwords in plain text), and your name if you provide it.
- Patient profile: Information you enter about the person receiving check-in calls, including their name, nickname, age, phone number, health conditions, medications, mobility status, interests, personality notes, and living situation.
- Call data: Brief written summaries of each check-in call, the mood/wellness signals our AI extracts from the conversation, the transcript text, call duration, and the time the call was placed. Audio recordings are not permanently stored — audio is processed in real time and discarded.
- Payment data: Subscription billing is handled by the Apple App Store (for iOS users) or by Stripe (for web users). Kin-nect does not store credit card numbers, CVV codes, or any payment-card details on our servers.
- Device data: Only what's necessary for the app to function — operating system version, app version, and crash logs. We do not collect advertising identifiers, contact lists, photos, or location.
How We Use Your Data
- To place the daily check-in calls you've scheduled.
- To generate summaries, mood classifications, and concern alerts from those calls.
- To display your call history, trends, and follow-ups on your dashboard.
- To improve the quality and personalization of the conversations over time.
- To send you important account notifications (billing, security, terms changes).
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate the product, each with their own privacy commitments:
- Anthropic: Powers the AI that conducts conversations and summarizes calls.
- Twilio / Vapi: Places the outbound phone calls and handles voice connectivity.
- Supabase: Provides our database, authentication, and storage layer.
- Stripe: Processes subscription payments for web users.
- Apple: Handles subscription payments and push notifications for iOS users.
SMS / Text Messaging
If you opt in to SMS alerts during signup, we collect and use the following information specifically for that program:
- What we collect: The mobile phone number you designate as the caregiver or emergency contact, the date and time of your consent, and the content of each alert we send (derived from the AI's analysis of the Patient's check-in calls).
- Who we share it with: Your mobile number and the message content are passed to our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) and the underlying mobile carriers solely to deliver the message to your device. No other party receives this data.
- No third-party marketing sharing: No mobile information, including phone numbers and SMS opt-in data, will be shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes under any circumstances. This data is used only to deliver the alerts you have consented to receive.
- Opt-out: You can stop SMS alerts at any time by replying STOP to any Kin-nect message, consistent with the SMS / Text Message Notifications section of our Terms of Service.
CCPA Notice (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete: Ask us to delete your personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale: We don't sell personal data, so there's nothing to opt out of — but the right exists.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not refuse service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@kin-nect.app with "CCPA Request" in the subject line.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Kin-nect is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

- When you cancel your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days.
- You can request immediate deletion at any time by tapping the Cancel Account button on the Profile screen in the iOS app, or by emailing support@kin-nect.app.

International Data Transfers
Kin-nect's data is stored on US-based servers (Supabase, primarily). If you access Kin-nect from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using Kin-nect from outside the US, you consent to that transfer.
Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password storage, row-level access controls in our database, and the security practices of our underlying service providers. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security against every possible threat. If we ever detect a breach that affects your data, we will notify you promptly as required by law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of Kin-nect after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
